Why I Blog...

This blog was created to document the programs I'm currently using to make myself gainfully self-employed.

History:

Until mid-July last year(2006), I had been working for a grocery store as one of the assistant heads of the deli department. The pay was fair, the work was not. I had only a few months previously found out that my right arm had nerve damage in it. I had asked the company to refrain from having me work the meat slicer as the Doc had told me that it would exacerbate the damage. The store didn't aquiesk to my requests, and after having to deal with their backward logic, and an insensitive store manager. I quit.

Since then I've returned to school at my own expense (student loan). And have been back to school for 2 semesters now, with 4 more semesters remaining until I fulfill my Bachelor's degree.

Debt:

While I was transitioning last year, I accrued $800 worth of credit card debit. I now also have a student loan that when I finish school will be around $10k. I also have a hospital bill from right after Hurricane Katrina, that I haven't paid off entirely yet that's around $200. (There was no place else to go, and I didn't have insurance at the time.) I also have bills to take care of as well including a past due bill of $127.

Goal:

My goal is to afford a decent living on my own, and payback my current debt.
